The Calgary Carvers Club Experience!
We meet weekly, Tuesday evenings, January to December, and enjoy a unique hobby that brings quiet satisfaction to the soul. This is an ideal place to relieve the stresses of daily life in an environment where one can participate in a relaxing hobby at one’s own pace.
Our facilities are very comfortable, well heated and air conditioned and have extremely good lighting. The club facilities include a fully functioning wood workshop that includes a 10” table saw, a 14” band saw, 2 scroll saws, a floor drill press, a belt/disc sander, an oscillating spindle sander and many assorted power hand tools. The work bench is equipped with hand tools, a double wheel grinder and a medium sized metal vise.
The Calgary Carvers Club rent the facilities from the Ogden House Seniors Centre. This includes the use of the gymnasium size hall for carving and the well equipped attached wood working shop. The excellent lighting and comfort of the facilities are very conducive to this hobby of wood carving.

All active members of the Calgary Carvers Club have access to the facilities, (wood workshop), either during the day (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday) and during club meetings Tuesday nights.
If you care to drop in to check out our club, you will see the members working on a variety of different projects including – wild fowl carving (birds), decoys, tree spirits in bark carvings, Christmas ornaments, walking sticks and hiking staffs, unique animal sculptures, wildlife figurines, Native Haida style masks and carvings, custom boxes with chip carvings, relief carvings and many other objects of art. The variety is only limited by the imagination of the carving club membership. Members will be more than willing to give you a guided tour of the facilities, introduce you to the members, and answer any questions that you may have.
